April 2020 PAD Chapbook Challenge Countdown Catch-Up: Time

you can't
stop the passage
of time flowing away
rushing into the distant past
heartbreaking memories leak from my eyes
when thoughts of pain become too much
tears form a misty veil
heart of glass breaks
last time

Choka: Wedding Bell or Doom Knell

some people sing praise
of the wonderful magic
love is like the spring
flowers and hearts are blooming
love is like summer
moon June tune and all of that
but to me love is
a whispered seductive lie
in a dark hallway
lustful shadow, lying tongue
love a mausoleum
in winter cemetery
filled with the dead dreams
of youth fallen years ago
love a pretty face
with a mouthful of grave dust
some sing praise to love
I turn my back and walk on

Acrostic Dodoitsu: Less than Less

less is more most of the time
only when it comes to love
very much the opposite
even less than less

November PAD Chapbook Challenge 2019: Day 1: Once Upon a Time

Once upon a time
I dreamed
once upon a time
he was
but now there's nothing left
except the misery
as summer disappears
and the barkers burst the colorful balloons
and take down the faire
players only love you
when you bring them money
gas, grass, or ass
no-one rides for free
little boys grow up
become corrupt
use and throw away
stupid girls
once upon a time
I believed in something
once upon a time
I thought someone waited for me
now I know the truth
the only one waiting 'round the corner
to put his arms around me
is death
that no matter where I am
I'm just two steps ahead of that man
some days I'm philosophical
some days I'm scared out of my fucking mind
and some days I'd welcome the bastard
with open arms
once upon a time
you were mine
you loved this wretched, broken thing
but like a leaf on the breeze you blew away
some things are too corrupted to love
I thought I saw you coming back to me
but then I woke from my dream
the fairytale disappeared
in a puff of smoke
like Little Jackie Paper
you snuffed out your dreams of Puff
dragons aren't real
magic only exists in fairy tales
and love is nothing but a lie
once upon a time
I believed in happy ever after
now I only believe
that dreams vanish
and hearts break
and
everything
dies

OctPoWriMo 2019: Day 22: Broken Pieces

Image by Peter H from Pixabay

I was born broken
Broken under a bad sign
Sign that says "keep away"
Away from this heart of mine

I will never be whole
Whole life spent with a heavy heart
Heart that was broken before I was born
Born into a life that tore me apart

You'll never find me embracing light
Light and lies are all the same
Same pretenders to goodness everywhere
My strength lies in not playing their game

I run for my life, hide from the light
Light which exposes too much of my soul
Soul embracing the darkness inside
Inside a broken heart long gone cold

~Cie~

Notes:
Loop Poetry is a poetry form created by Hellon. There are no restrictions on the number of stanzas nor on the syllable count for each line. In each stanza, the last word of the first line becomes the first word of line two, last word of line 2 becomes the first word of line 3, last word of line 3 becomes the first word of line 4. This is followed for each stanza. The rhyme scheme is abcb.

Sorry, but your girl Cie ain't feeling the whole question and answer part of the prompt. Make of this poem what you will.

Song inspirations follow!

NaPoWriMo 2019: Day 5: The Scream of the Butterfly at the End of the World

Image by Enrique Meseguer from Pixabay

Why does the sun go on shining
Like heaven ablaze in our eyes
This is the end of nights when we tried dying

I want to be alone in the darkness with my crying
Where I can't hear the voices whispering their lies
Why does the sun go on shining?

I scream and hear nobody replying
Not even an echo from the tomb does arise
This is the end of nights when we tried dying

I try to fool myself but there is no denying
All things end and everything dies
Why does the sun go on shining?

I will remain till the end of my life alone and pining
For the one who no longer listens to my cries
This is the end of nights when we tried dying

I wish one last time I'd hear your voice replying
Before everything I was wastes away and dies
Why does the sun go on shining?
This is the end of nights when we tried dying

Note:
Today's criteria were: write a villanelle, use lines from outside sources, and have lines which oppose each other in some way. I think I succeeded. Just thank your lucky stars I wasn't feeling snarkier than I am at the moment. I could have used the line "fuck, fuck, fuck me, Baby" from the uncensored version of "The End."
